You'll get support when you need it, and also be trusted to manage your own projects, using your judgment to lead conversations with customers, vendors, and contractors.
This leading Global Data Centre Owner and Operator is recruiting a Project Manager/ Implementation Manager to manage fit-outs for customers leasing space within their sites in Sydney.
The primary responsibility is Project Management of customer implementations in a data centre raised floor environment. This typically includes the installation of racks, electrical distribution, cages, containment systems, and data cable infrastructure.
The existing customer base is an enviable list comprised of Major Banks, Telco's, Cloud Carriers, ISP's, Fortune 500's, and ASX 200's.
What you'll do
Working in a small team, you will oversee multiple fit-out projects across sites in the region, ensuring deployments are completed on time, within budget, and to standard. Most of the projects are in Sydney, and there may be travel to Melbourne
- Develop project scope, timelines, and deliverables
- Create scopes of work/ bills of quantities for contractors and suppliers
- Qualify vendors and manage tender/ quoting activities
- Manage material vendors and contractors
- Report on project performance, providing updates and tracking costs for all projects
- Build and manage relationships with external clients/ customers and the internal property team
- 5 years + Project Management experience, ideally working on fit-out projects
- Some experience managing projects in a data centre environment is desirable, but other projects in similar critical live environments would be considered
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Engineering or Telecommunications or Project Management certification or equivalent experience
With some hybrid working, you'll have the flexibility of work-from-home days, plus time on-site to keep things practical and hands-on.
The company has gone through significant growth in Australia, which will continue over the next twelve months.
